Exploring The Cabrillo Tidepools

We took Hoku on the the Cabrillo National Monument Tidepools trail. This short hike is excellent for dogs who love to explore. The paths are wide and there’s a ton of opportunities to go off-path and closer to the water for really amazing views and photo ops. However, this is the only trail in the Cabrillo National Monument in which leashed dogs are allowed for the protection of the wildlife. There is also a $5 entrance fee per car unless you have a National Parks annual pass. The park opens at 9am and closes at 4:30pm.

Probably one of Hoku’s favorite hikes to date. He’s intrigued by the waves and loves to chase lizards in the bushes. The cool ocean breeze is also nice, especially during the summer.
