We recently went back for a second visit to the Cabrillo Tidepools. Being from an island originally, we just love the sight and sounds of the ocean which may be why we’re particularly drawn to this hike over the others we’ve done inland. On this particular Saturday, we arrived at 9am on the dot and practically had the entire place to ourselves. Hoku loved being the only dog there. He had all the lizards to himself. He also liked going really close to the cliff’s edge to look down at the waves crashing below. We’re seriously considering a National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Annual Pass ($80) so we can come back as often as we’d like without having to pay the $5 vehicle fee and of course, to support our national parks.
