It’s beginning to look a lot like Shibamas

We added a new addition to the fireplace mantel this year: Hoku’s very own mom-made red fleece stocking, which is sure to be filled to the brim with treats and toys once the grandparents and Aunty Janelle arrive. Only 8 more days until Christmas!

Hello Hoku is the story of girl
and boy meets shiba in Southern California. We love climbing mountains, weekend road trips, exploring our city,  growing vegetables, and fixing up our little old house. We also appreciate a witty pun or portmanteau.

Lately in Southern California // So cold. So sunny.
The shiba equivalent of running out of the office, changing into sweats and crawling back into bed.
Never leave your boba unattended. . Six years ago, we drove 100 miles to adopt a 2 year old dog we had never met. All we knew was that he loved oranges and otter pops. Thanks for choosing us, Hoku :)

We’ve cleared the gutters, moved the plants and donned our raincoats. But is a “winter storm” in LA just regular rain everywhere else?
