Mission Trails Regional Park is quite literally in our backyard and we never even knew about it. It feels so removed from the hustle and bustle of the city while just a 10-minute drive away. The park has trails of varying difficulty levels but we decided to try an easier one since it was only Hoku’s second hike ever. We followed Father Junipero Road until we found a one that looked nice and shady that began with steps that led us down the side of a huge boulder. It might have been called Grinding Rocks Trail. Hoku was a happy dog taking in all the new smells and exploring nature.
