Palm Springs Museum Trail (Part 1)

The Museum Trail is a moderate, fairly steep 1.5 mile uphill hike. It begins at the parking lot of the Palm Springs Art Museum at 320 feet and climbs to 850 feet. The rocky trail had Hoku’s name written all over it and there was no rock he couldn’t spryly leap, hop and jump over with ease. Although we started the trail in the middle of the day, the weather (thankfully) was cool and comfortable, with good sunshine and a nice breeze. Having read that the trail was popular with the senior community of Palm Springs, we assumed it’d be an easy ascent but surprisingly it was quite a workout! The amazing views of Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley made the climb well worth the effort.
