Idyllwild Day 1: Into the San Bernardino National Forest

A merry belated Shibamas to all! Hoku received enough toys and treats to last him through 2014 and beyond. (His favorite was a gift from Aunty Janelle: a giant rabbit toy that squeaks and grunts!)

We spent the weekend after Christmas in Idyllwild, a quaint, little town in the San Bernardino National Forest. It’s just a 2 hour drive from San Diego but feels like worlds apart with conifers for miles, wood cabins, and crisp mountain air. We had an amazing time being surrounded by nature, hiking, foraging for firewood, drinking hot cocoa, roasting marshmallows and chestnuts, and playing boardgames in front of the fireplace. More photos to come!
